Andrea Knies
Assistant Director, MBA Career Management Center, Chapman University
Andrea Knies is the Assistant Director of the MBA Career Management Center at Chapman University in Orange, California. In this role, she works to bring strengths into the everyday vocabulary of the MBA candidates. By integrating strengths into all areas of the career development programming, she encourages these students to use strengths to market their skills and evaluate positions.
Prior to her position at Chapman, Andrea was a Career Counselor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). While at UCI, she formed the Strengths Revolution Team, a group of staff members dedicated to spreading the word around campus about strengths. Andrea also brought StrengthsQuest to a campuswide student leadership conference, which has become a new tradition.
Since attending a Strengths Educator seminar in 2009, Andrea has focused her strengths knowledge in career services and leadership. She received bachelor's degrees in communication and sociology and a master's degree in higher education and student affairs from Indiana University. She is currently in the process of earning a master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in organizational leadership. Andrea also is a Gallup certified strengths-based educator. Her Signature Themes are Ideation, Futuristic, Self-Assurance, Input, and Achiever.
