Cori Shaff

Career Counselor, University of Colorado at Boulder

Cori Shaff is a Career Counselor at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In addition to one-on-one student career counseling, Cori coordinates Career Services' outreach by providing a variety of career-related workshops to undergraduate students. She also supervises undergraduate student leaders who provide similar presentations.

Cori loves using StrengthsQuest when working one-on-one with first-year students who are exploring majors and with seniors who are preparing for their post-graduation plans. She is building a strengths-based campus at the University of Colorado at Boulder through group workshops, on-campus committees, and regional meetings. Over the past two years, Cori has facilitated multiple StrengthsQuest workshops for students and staff members, including a four-week workshop for academic advisors; a two-week residence life intervention course; and a session for 100 students participating in Alternative Breaks. Cori works closely with the Student Affairs department to offer StrengthsQuest as a resource for supervisors and student leaders. She provides support for other CU-Boulder StrengthsQuest facilitators through training and one-on-one coaching.

In addition to her work on the CU-Boulder campus, Cori provides support for other staff and faculty members in Colorado who are using StrengthsQuest on their campuses. In fall 2010, Cori hosted Colorado's first StrengthsQuest regional meeting; more than 35 college and university staff members attended.

Cori received her bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her master's degree in education with a focus in counseling and career development from Colorado State University. Her Signature Themes are Empathy, Communication, Harmony, Woo, and Maximizer.
