Craig Benson

Director of Career Exploration, University of Missouri

Craig Benson has worked at the University of Missouri (MU) Career Center since 1999 as the Director of Career Exploration. Craig's primary role includes training and supervising undergraduate and graduate paraprofessionals who provide the bulk of the MU Career Center's walk-in and by-appointment services. Craig also serves as a StrengthsQuest Advisor to Gallup's StrengthsQuest program.

Craig began using StrengthsQuest with students and staff in 2006. He collaborates with a number of faculty and staff at MU who helped expand the use of StrengthsQuest to many academic and student service departments on campus. Craig uses StrengthsQuest in traditional career services areas such as career exploration and job searches, student leadership and management training, teacher education, and professional staff development.

Craig received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kansas State University and a master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in management from the University of Missouri. He also received master's degree in educational organization and leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His Signature Themes are Learner, Achiever, Maximizer, Strategic, and Responsibility.
